WhatsApp has added a brand new button that makes your Group Chats much more powerful, learn How the New WhatsApp Button on your Chats Works on this article.
It’s linked to group video and audio calls – improving them significantly.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp added joinable calls.
That meant you could join a WhatsApp Group Call even when it’s in progress – rather than missing out if you didn’t accept the original invite.
That made WhatsApp more akin to popular video chat apps like Zoom and Google Meet.
Now you can join these group video calls directly from the chat tab.
“We are making it easier to connect spontaneously with your groups,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said.
“Join ongoing calls with your groups anytime, effortlessly and directly from the chat view with one click.”
The new button means you can call a WhatsApp Group (or join a call) from the chat itself.
And the redesigned notification will now say the Group name, rather than listing participants.
Only people in the Group will be able to join the call.
The call will also appear in the chat list, so you can quickly and easily see which groups have ongoing calls.
WhatsApp also says it’s introducing a “lighter distinct ringtone”.
The new update is available already, so check your iPhone’s App Store or the Google Play Store on Android.
Once you’ve updated, you should be able to see the new design.
